Canapa Candle - London Fog Pancake Recipe

Canapa Candle - London Fog Pancake Recipe

If you enjoy a streamy cup of London Fog just as much as I do, you'll love this twist on a quick and easy pancake recipe. My obsession with London Fog Tea began when I made my first London Fog Soy Candle, I knew immediately this candle would be a show stopper.

I went on a London Fog kick for about a week straight, ordering the drink from my local Starbucks in Sydney, oh my gosh it is so good! Do you have a favourite cafe you order your London Fog from, or do you prefer to make it at home?

London Fog Pancake Recipe from Canapa Candle Soy Candles made in Louisbourg Nova Scotia

My obsession brought me to formulating a simple pancake recipe with that yummy London Fog twist! Light a candle, get cozy and enjoy my dreamy London Fog Pancake recipe.

Ingredients:

  •  1 Cup Flour (I use Bob's Red Mill 1:1 gluten free flour, but you can use regular flour as well)
  • 1 Cup Milk - This recipe should also work with non-dairy milk.
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Blume Lavender Blend - You can order online and I have also seen Leaf and Root Wellness in Sydney, Cape Breton carrying several Blume Powders.
  • Lavender Buds (make sure it is edible culinary lavender) - I get mine from Seafoam Lavender, they are based in Nova Scotia but ship across Canada.
  • Butter, for the pan. You could also use a or a dairy free substitute.
  • Earl Grey Tea - I use Tease Tea Earl Grey.
  • Honey - I try to use local honey. It always seems to taste better, yum!
  • Whipped Cream - You could also use a dairy-free substitute, if you are able to get it frothy. This is for aesthetic purposes and not necessary for the recipe.

Directions:

  • In a small pot, add 2-3 teaspoons of Earl Grey tea plus enough water to just cover the tea leaves.
  • Add a tablespoon of honey to the mixture.
  • Get this to a light simmer and take it off the heat after a minute or so. You don't want it to burn. It should thicken into a bit of a syrup. Set aside.
  • Next, mix your ingredients: Flour, milk, beaten eggs, Baking Powder vanilla and salt.
  • Go back to your Earl Grey syrup, strain out the tea leaves and add the syrup to your pancake mix. If you need to add an extra Tablespoon or two of flour, go ahead.
  • Preheat your pan to a low setting, add some butter. Pour in a scoop of pancake batter and sprinkle a few Lavender buds on top.
  • When you see bubbles form on top, time to flip.
  • If you'd like to add an extra dreamy look, add Whipped Cream to the top of your pancake stack. Add maple syrup. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this recipe just as much as I did. It was so much fun to make and tasted amazing! While cooking in the morning I always light a candle or two, it helps make the space cozy and when the sun hasn't fully risen adds some extra natural light.
