This past weekend, downtown Louisbourg was buzzing! Salty Girls Seaside Diner started serving pizza, the Bistro was doing free hot chocolate and live music, the local Legion was doing Karoeke and Canapa Candle hosted a holiday candle-pouring event that brought together locals and visitors alike. What a day for our foggy little town.
As the fog rolled in and the winter chill touched the air, our community came together to share in warmth, creativity, and festive cheer. There were lots of laughs, cookies and candle pouring. During our event we had a visit from Ryan at CTV News who did a story on our Candle Pour. He did an amazing story on the candle pouring workshop plus we chatted about small business in Louisbourg during the off season. I loved what he said here "Members of a small Cape Breton community got together over the weekend for an event that looked like a scene straight from a Hallmark Christmas movie."

Our candle studio was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the joy of crafting as participants poured their own Christmas candles—a creative way to welcome the holiday season a little early. But this event was about more than just candles; it was a testament to the resilience and spirit of our local businesses, who continue to thrive and support one another despite the challenges that winter often brings to our small coastal town.
Events like these are more than moments—they are memories in the making, strengthening the bonds that hold our town together. We are deeply grateful for everyone who joined us, supported us, and made the day magical. And as the holiday season continues, we are excited to share more events that celebrate the heart of Louisbourg. You can learn more about our next event HERE. On November 23rd we will host a Noah Kahan inspired night market at Canapa Candle from 6-9pm.
Thank you, Ryan and CTV, for capturing this story and for highlighting the power of our business community. Big things happening in Louisbourg, lets keep it going!
